mission statement

As reflected in our clinic’s name, Naturopathic Medicine acknowledges the body’s natural ability to heal and self-regulate.

Naturopathic Doctors aim to tap into this innate “body knowledge” by using the gentlest and least invasive means necessary to restore balance in an effective way.

“Body of Knowledge” also alludes to our holistic approach to wellness; where physical, mental, and intuitive aspects of self are interconnected.

Our goal at Body of Knowledge Healing Arts is to empower our patients to strive towards balance in all aspects of their lives.

Doctor as teacher (from the Latin docere meaning to teach) is a fundamental tenant of Naturopathic Medicine. As such, our mission is not to manage our patients’ health, but rather; to teach our patients to manage their own health, while offering support and expertise.

The ability to teach relies heavily on one’s ability to learn, and at Body of Knowledge Healing Arts we are committed to the pursuit of lifelong learning, both through our interactions with patients, and through Continuing Education and research initiatives.

In kind, we aim to bring you the most up-to-date information and effective treatment options, while adhering to the principles of Naturopathic Medicine.

naturopathic doctor’s oath

I dedicate myself to the service of humanity as a practitioner of the art and science of naturopathic medicine.

By precept, education and example, I will assist and encourage others to strengthen their health, reduce risks for disease, and preserve the health of our planet for ourselves and future generations.

I will continuously endeavour to improve my abilities.

I will conduct my life and practice of naturopathic medicine with integrity and freedom from prejudice.

I will keep confident what should not be divulged.

I will honour the principles of naturopathic medicine:

First, do no harm.

To cooperate with the healing powers of nature.

To address the fundamental cause of disease.

To heal the whole person through individualized treatment.

To teach the principles of healthy living and preventative medicine.

With my whole heart, before these witnesses, as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, I pledge to remain true to this oath.
