The focus of Naturopathic Medicine is on the prevention of disease, patient education, and the stimulation of the vis medicatrix naturae ; or the “healing power of nature”. The vis includes the body’s innate natural ability to heal, and the ability to heal using natural medicines and wisdoms observed in nature.

training & regulation

Registered (or licensed) Naturopathic Doctors must complete at least three years of pre-medical studies at a recognized university, followed by four years of full-time naturopathic training at a college accredited for licensure.
